FAQs

  • Travel agents are back, baby! But in a modern way.

As a Fora Advisor, I have connections with top hotels and travel partners. This allows me to create the best possible trips for you, from staycations to bucket-list safaris.

  • Not quite. By booking with me, you get VIP treatment–priority room upgrades, preferred rates, hotel credits, and free breakfast. Plus, I can leverage the collective knowledge of a community of travel advisors to curate a unique trip for you.

  • Most of the travel plans I book for my clients are free of charge!

If you’d like a personalized wellness retreat or boutique vacation, I will charge a Travel Service Fee, ranging from $100-$300, depending on the length of your travel. This fee not only includes my services as your travel advisor, but it includes exclusive perks, rates, and my time and expertise as a travel agent and mental health therapist.

  • Absolutely!

Walt Disney World is a fan-favorite in my family and we try to visit the "House of Mouse" every year. Whether you want to visit Disneyland, Disney World, or take a Disney cruise I would love to book your vacation.

The bonus of having a travel advisor plan your Disney trip is not having to stress about all the logistics and planning that goes into this kind of vacation. Therefore, I may charge a Travel Service Fee to plan your Disney vacation.

If you’d like your Disney trip planned with no service fees, I am happy to recommend a highly experienced travel advisor who specializes in Disney.

  • The ideal time to book your vacation depends on your destination, the type of trip, and the time of year you're planning to travel. Here’s a general guide:

    - International Trips: For major international trips, it's best to book 6 to 12 months in advance. This ensures you get the best flights, accommodations, and activities, especially for popular destinations or peak seasons.

    - Domestic Trips: If you're staying within your country, aim to book 3 to 6 months in advance. This gives you enough time to find good deals and secure preferred accommodations and flights.

    - Holiday and Peak Season Travel: If you’re traveling during holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, or during school vacations, it’s recommended to book 9 to 12 months in advance due to high demand.

    - Cruises and All-Inclusive Resorts: For these types of trips, booking 9 to 12 months ahead is ideal to ensure you get the best cabins or rooms and take advantage of early booking discounts.

    - Last-Minute Getaways: If you're planning a spontaneous trip, a travel agent can often help with last-minute bookings, but your options may be more limited, especially for flights and accommodations.

The earlier you book, the more flexibility and choice you'll have for your vacation.

  • I highly recommend travel insurance for your vacations - this is something I'm happy to offer as part of my service.

Travel insurance provides a range of benefits that can help protect you financially and medically during your trip. Travel insurance is your "safety net" against unexpected events, helping you avoid significant financial losses while giving you peace of mind. Whether you're dealing with medical emergencies, lost luggage, or trip cancellations, travel insurance ensures you’re covered for the unpredictable.

  • Unless you'd like to book Business or First class tickets, I do not book airfare for my clients. I've found that most clients are frequent flyers and like to use their points or rewards to book air travel. Unfortunately, this is not something I am able to do on behalf of my clients.

If you'd like recommendations for international or domestic airlines, I'm happy to help!

  • For international travel, it's important to have the proper documentation to ensure a smooth journey. Here’s a checklist of the essential documents you should bring:

    1. Passport

      • Requirement: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date, depending on the destination country’s requirements.

      • Why it’s needed: It’s your primary form of identification for international travel and entry into foreign countries.

    2. Visa

      • Requirement: Some countries require a visa for entry, which must be obtained either before departure or upon arrival.

      • Why it’s needed: A visa grants you permission to enter a specific country for a particular purpose (tourism, work, etc.). Check with the consulate of your destination country for their visa requirements.

    3. Flight Tickets and Travel Itinerary

      • Requirement: Printed or digital copies of your airline tickets and itinerary.

      • Why it’s needed: You may need to show proof of your itinerary when checking in for your flight, crossing borders, or at customs.

    4. Proof of Accommodation

      • Requirement: Confirmation of hotel bookings or a letter from your host.

      • Why it’s needed: Some countries may require proof of accommodation during your stay, either at customs or for visa purposes.

    5. Health and Vaccination Certificates

      • Requirement: Depending on your destination, you may need proof of vaccinations (e.g., yellow fever, COVID-19).

      • Why it’s needed: Certain countries require vaccination certificates for entry to protect against infectious diseases.

    6. Travel Insurance Policy

      • Requirement: A printed or digital copy of your travel insurance policy.

      • Why it’s needed: Proof of insurance may be required by some countries, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, or for emergencies like medical evacuations.

    7. Emergency Contact Information

      • Requirement: A list of emergency contacts, including family, travel insurance, and embassy or consulate information.

      • Why it’s needed: Essential in case of an emergency, loss of documentation, or needing assistance abroad.

    8. Driver’s License and International Driving Permit (IDP)

      • Requirement: If you plan to rent a car or drive abroad, bring your driver’s license and an International Driving Permit (IDP) if required by the country.

      • Why it’s needed: Many countries require both your national license and an IDP for legal driving.

    9. Credit Cards, Cash, and Travel Cards

      • Requirement: Bring at least two credit or debit cards, along with some local currency or a travel money card.

      • Why it’s needed: Some destinations may have limited ATM access, so it’s important to have various payment methods available.

    10. Copies of Important Documents

      • Requirement: Photocopies or digital backups of your passport, visa, travel insurance, and other key documents.

      • Why it’s needed: In case of loss or theft, having copies can expedite the replacement process and ease communications with embassies or consulates.

    11. Customs and Immigration Forms

      • Requirement: Completed customs declaration forms, if required by your destination country.

      • Why it’s needed: You may need to declare any items you're bringing into the country that are subject to customs duties or restrictions.

    12. Return or Onward Travel Ticket

      • Requirement: Proof of your return or onward travel, such as a booked flight, train, or bus ticket.

      • Why it’s needed: Some countries require proof that you will leave the country at the end of your stay.

    13. COVID-19 Related Documents

      • Requirement: Proof of negative COVID-19 tests, vaccination status, or completion of health forms may be required.

      • Why it’s needed: Many countries still have entry restrictions and requirements in place due to the pandemic.

    Bonus Tip:

    • Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP): U.S. citizens can register their trip with the State Department’s STEP program to receive alerts about safety conditions in their destination country and help the embassy contact you in an emergency.

Having these documents ready ensures that your international travel experience goes as smoothly as possible, from departure to arrival.
